IIRC the new engines have a new HPFP that uses a roller type follower insead of the bucket to address the wear issue, this could be the differences they are talking about. The HPFP in the current S3 flows enough for 260 odd bhp so why would an uprated higher flowing pump be needed for the 261bhp Cupra?

I have a sneaky suspicion VAG/SEAT are underrating the cupra r and it really has a few more bhp than that. We will soon find out though as it wont take long for one to end up on the rollers

Wayne you should post the press release where it says the cupra r will feature a UPGRADED fuel pump instead of new. Arin from APR might think when the say new they mean the revision k pump.

VAG is fully aware of the fact that the standard pump has trouble keeping up, so I wouldnt be surprised if they did rectify that.

Ha ha, 'Tex forum gold - takes all of about 5 minutes for handbags to start being waved and horses**t statements such as "VAG has not created a roller follower style high pressure fuel pump for this engine"... defensive FTW.

Fairs doos, VAG might not have made one - but how in the hell would they know??
Sideways yo!

I would think you're on to a non starter as It's rumoured to be the TFSi engine ala' S3.
