Info on golf gti mk5

Hi

So all being well i should have a golf mk5 gti this week.

Just for peace of mind i would like to service it even though its had stuff done to it etc, so got a few questions.

I know alot of the info will be on here but i'm lazy and keeps all the info i need in one place.

So here goes:

Where is best to buy timing belt and water pump for price?

What else is recomended to change?

What oil is best for it?

I want to change the alloys, ive had a look on the thread with alloys on mk5/mk6, but where is best to buy alloys for best price?

Any other things i should look out for that is common to needing changed?

The best panel filter, itg?

Best braided brake hoses?

Anywhere recommended to go in glasgow area to get work done, good volkswagon specialist?

If its a DSG that will need an oil change every 40k miles

Engine oil just stick with premium stuff and make sure its done at least every 10k miles, even if the Longlife servicing schedule suggests otherwise

Other bits that need doing as the PCV and DV, plenty of threads on this but they tend to degrade/ fail and are cheap to replace

What is best grade of oil. 5w-40  any use ?

The recommended oil for it is castrol edge fully synthetic.

Wish I knew Seat were so cheap when I had my timing belt changed.
