What brakes to get? Help please!
« on: June 08, 2014, 12:51:14 pm »
As the thread suggests i need new discs and pads. I'm a total noob when it comes to brakes. I'm running stage 1 and may plan to go stage 2 although dunno how much diff in power i will get as I already have intake and full tbe system.

I've looked at r32/s3/cupra set up. Are there any other suggestions?

Car will only be used for fast daily driving.

I'm stage 1 with 260hp and S3 front brakes with grooved and dimpled discs and decent pads, they're an enormous improvement on the standard ones, they're plenty good enough for fast road use, and they're pretty cheap for what they are since they go straight on.

+1 for the s3 front set up with decent discs and pads mate, I've had this set up for around 6 months now and I have full confidence in them  :driver: they aren't the lightest of set ups but for the price there a good deal
Edition 30 build No:692 Revo stage 2 SOLD

Cheers guys where is the best place to pick s3 pads discs up. I take it the r32/s3/cupra are all very similar.

What exactly will i need for the complete set up? Discs pads calipers. New brake lines for the fronts anything else?

R32, Mk6 R, Audi S3 or Cupra R fronts all use the same sized calipers, discs and discs. Disc size is 345 x30mm for your reference.

A good place is this forum, I've seen some cracking deals on full front setups, just buy and bolt on (not quite so literally, but simpler compared to other setups).

I run stock Volkswagen discs and Ferodo pads up front, easily copes with a spirited B road session.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Thanks for that, I did consider stock set up with better pads but fancy something more robust.
