Dunno if this may help people that want to go down the lease route rather than buy outright, but this seems like a good deal.

The most powerful production Golf yet, the 300 PS Golf R can be leased for a staggering £229.20 per month on this 6+23 month lease profile. Only 5,000 miles per annum, but if you've a short commute like me this is very tempting.

As it is a lease deal Road Tax is provided by the lease company.

This car retails at £30,555 and comes in Tornado Red. You can pay a little more for a different colour.

The 3dr (which looks better, yet is less practical) can be had for £1.20 per month more. The spec looks fully loaded

Been talking to a few lads about these the past week since the deals came back out. It really is unreal value for money. You can get a DSG car for £250 a month.

Does make me want to sell the ED30 and order one.

I do around 15k a year change it on there site I'd be better off on higher purchase

Never gone down the leasing route, but might with these kind of offers.

I only do 5k a year in my Eddy anyway, will defo have to see what colour options there are though....red

you sure thats the latest 300 hp one has it says list price 24k thats not right, should be 30 k

At the end of the term you still have your cash in the bank unless you've spunked it on drugs and hookers.

So say you say sell your Ed30 for 10k, bank it, then lease a Golf R for a cost of £5500 over the two years, oh and the £1100 deposit out of your 10k budget in the small print...and this will be a bare bones spec car with a stick shifter..... No options on it...

Your then gonna have £3850 to buy another good quality replacement??

I know the R is good, I'd rather buy it with a private loan from the bank and do the repayments that way personally.

But that's the way I would go about it. I wouldn't wanna give that sort of car up.

Imagine you have no car now...
You either buy a car for 10k and after 2 years it's worth maybe 7 and has cost you between nothing and up to let's say 3000 in maintainence.

So that's cost you 6k at least!!

Where as this you can have a brand new car with warranty that won't need any work at all for the duration of your ownership..
