H&R springs just a little too stiff for comfort
« on: June 11, 2014, 04:01:13 pm »
I've had them for a year now and not really impressed with the ride. Can anyone recommend alternatives ?

My Koni kit is surposably coming with -40mm springs. I told the sales guy @ demon freaks that they'll turn up with -30mm and he said I was wrong. I bet him free delivery I was right  :signLOL:

Guys, would changing the springs give me a more OEM ride or would the dampers need to changed as well?

Loads of people just change the springs. I put H&R springs in mine from AKS Tuning. I love them.

The Eibach sportline springs would be slightly softer, but give an uneven ride height, well when i say uneven, the rear sits higher than the fronts.

The H&R do give a more even height, they may get slightly easier through time, or you just get used to it. But with the H&R springs on the OEM Shocks i would have thought they would be great for handling... They where for me !  :P

Did you have a Wheel alignment done after the springs had been fitted ?
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

The handling is not a problem, it's the ride quality. I love the look but the ride is a tad harsh.

Had H&R springs fitted on my ed30, I find them very good...drop is just enough..however I do find the ride a bit crashy when going over potholes etc etc

I totally agree, the ride is good, just hard on potholes and speedbumps.  I think the H&R ones are progressive springs so they get harder the more you push them (that's what she said!)

It's just a balance between handling and comfort, any softer springs will give more body roll! Depends what your preference is!
