As title...I removed my ipod  (classic big thing) to put some tunes on it, then slid it back into the armrest dock, and drive off happy humming to new tunes.
Only a mile down the road, the "Wait" text on my headunit and the tunes stop.

So I replace the ipod in the dock and try again, plays then stops.

Short version of what I did next...tried and retried relocating, got fed up and "may have" pushed a little hard into the cradle and now tunes are only coming out of the driver side speaker and very quiet. What have a fooked up? :ashamed:

More importantly how do I correct it so I can once again play tunes from my ipod in the car?

Oh btw, was in VW (warrington) today as my ESP light came on (full fitment of ABS pump - gratis - not even diagnostics fee charged)  :jumping: and they looked at the dock and  said £275 to replace the doc / midi interface box thingy ma jig...to which I smiled and said goodbye. :fighting:

Any help most appreciated guys !

they do suffer massively with dry joins. sounds like it could be that. you can pick up a replacement dock for £40-50 off ebay

Hey,.  thanks for the quick reply  :drinking:

I am not so mechanically savvy as to take my car apart regularly for fun,....how easy is it to pull the old one out and disconnect / reconnect replacement unit?
I assume it is a screwless / push fit ?

Very simple, they are push in. Some are very tight if they have never been removed so require the rear section of the armrest to be popped off. Only 2 screws on the cup holder to remove.
