Reparing a front grill

So I ordered a JOM badgeless off an eBay shop and it arrives broken...



So a quick message to them and they just replace it for free and don't require the old one back! I'm left with a broken grill that I'm thinking of repairing.

My plan was to use a tiny bit of super glue to close the split then fibreglass repair the back of it for strength. Is this going to work or am I wasting my time?

I'd suggest the fibre glass resin kit bud, it's really thin once applied, so it shouldn't affect future fitment  either. Apply it from the back once you've ruffed up the surface for it to key too, then either grind or file out the crack from the front and use the resin from the kit to fill the crack back in, and finish off with filler ect.

Cool, cheers for that. Looks like my girlfriend wants it on her GTI, and she'll drill number plate holes so the crack will mostly be covered. Fibreglass is pretty strong so I'll get that on the back to support it.

Hi mate im removing the license plate plinth off a gti grille so wont be much use to me. Is it something you can use for your gfs car at all?
