Anyone For a Rolex Daytona

As some of you will know the Daytona has on average a 6 Year waiting list.

Local Authorised Dealers such as Goldsmith will rarely add anyone to the list as it is simply too long a wait  

With Rolex implementing Price increases twice a year this also proves difficult in terms of affordability as you would have gone through 12 price increases in that time.

My dealer has offered me x1 New Black Face Daytona.

There is no extra cost added to this watch as I am simply offering this to the forum.

£7874.00 is the cash price Retail is £7950. You will deal directly with the authorised Rolex Dealership and you will receive a stamped and dated Rolex card baring your name, together with the Rolex warranty, receipts and associated paperwork.

I can confirm the bit about local dealers. I enquiry  about beating the waiting times and was told that a substantial purchase from their store would securely a Daytona pretty quickly. At that point my wife's eyes widened and I could sense her scanning the jewellery shelves. I asked what substantial meant and was told a purchase of similar value to the daytona. At that point I made my excuses and walked out. No way was I effectively paying £16k for a Daytona 

They are a truly fantastic timepiece but obviously the market is small given the price. I purchased my new one 2 months ago as per the recent purchase thread but did pay a small premium for effectively using a middle man but still way cheaper than feeling the effects of multiple price increases whilst on the waiting list

And please do pass the word, it's taken me several years to build this relationship with the Rolex AD therefore someone could benefit greatly from this. I've seen these sell for £9k on the Grey Dealer Market

Gave 1800 for a new Explorer II from the channel islands when I made captain so No VAT, probably worth £3.5K now, its an absurd amount of money to have on your wrist but its more compact than a gold bar in the same place and arguably performing better as an investment.....

PS Speaking of which had it 8 years and never been serviced and look tatty next to my mates Daytona, wheres THE place to get these things serviced mail order....can they go back to Rolex??

They have a service centre in Bexley Kent.
Certainly worth paying for, I don't swim or shower with my watches so I generally go 10 years before a service.
I rotate my watches frequently so that probably equates to 2 years wrist time

Just take your watch to any Rolex dealer and they will send it off for you

As already stated, back to Rolex for a service as it's well worth the premium imo 

Had a Breitling come back from their official service centre, full spring replacements, winder, arms, re lum'd and a full case and bracelet polish, honestly came back looking as good as new!

Just bear in mind it may take a few months to come back dave. Sometimes 3-4 months.

had my wifes Lady Datejust serviced a few years ago at our local Rolex Dealer and from memory cost obout £180. what sort of prices are they these days. Hers was about 10 years old at the time and will be due another service in the next couple of years I expect. The Daytona is new so got a few years ahead of me yet

That is true.. but it's still a watch and everyone has a phone these days that has the time on it so other than displaying to everyone you have money to burn, i don't see the point
