im after a good garage local vw specialist, im near chippenham so closer the better as my car needs some work etc and a service doing

I take mine to http://www.dialynx.co.uk/ they are near Royal Wotton Basset so not far from you  :wink: they usually work on Audi but have fitted my LSD & Clutch with no problems.  :happy2:

There is also a place in Cirencester but can't remember the name (its a bmw & VW specialist near love lane)

There's quite a few places about, but I confess I've never used any of them. There's one in Bowerhill, there's the place between Melksham and Calne near Sandy Lane, the place in Bradford-on-Avon, Heritage in Westbury...

To be honest, I've always driven to APS, but it sounds like you don't wanna go that far.
