Plenty of topics on this fella  :happy2:

In summary: optimax hasn't been around for years, it was renamed to V-Power and is now V-Power Nitro+.

V-Power Nitro+ and Tesco Super unleaded are 99RON whereas other super unleadeds are only 97RON.

Benefits are more power and better fuel economy, and a cleaner engine (if you use Shell).

As Gray said search for other threads on this as there are loads and there is no such thing as optimax anymore. If money is no object and you want the best, then use shell V-Power. Tesco momentum is a cheaper alternative and is the only other 99 RON fuel.
Doesn't matter if you mix fuels, the car wont cease!

hey mate,

Either Shell Nitro+ or Tesco momentum 99 is the fuel of choice.

Im going to give you a crib sheet of info - will help you with your ownership of your GTI:

Best Tyres: Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 OR Michelin Pilot sport 3 (depends who you ask)
DV Valve: Latest revision is "G"
Oil: Long Life oil Only - Castrol Edge 5w30
PCV - check this for leaks
Servicing - Time and distance only
Cam Follower - change it every 40k
Cam Belt - Changed every 4 years or 40k mile (which ever comes first) - get the water pump changed at the same time
DSG (where applicable) - this needs to be serviced every 4 years

Hope this helps!

I ran mine on both Tesco Momentum and Shell V-Power. Tesco is the most cost effective 99 RON fuel on the market but I have read in a couple of publications that Shell V-Power offers the best results.
