Which clutch?
« on: September 11, 2014, 10:28:41 pm »
Ok guys, the inevitable has happened. I'm at stage 1 on my 2005 axx gti. Can someone recommend a clutch and if possible a link to what I need? Guess I'll need a flywheel as well?

From what I've been looking at when it happens to me I'm going with a helix organic and new OEM dual mass flywheel.

Yeap, go for the Organic Helix and add a new OEM DMF at the same time. Speak to Alex (vRSAlex on here) at AKSTuning as he's your chap for these things......

Another vote for the helix with dual mass. Got mine from aks fitted last week and I'm really happy with it  :happy2:

SMF's are more reliable than DMF's as they are simply a metal disc, however you'll most likely experience 'chatter' from the engine at idle, and increased vibration through the drivetrain when pulling off

IMO the SMF is less road and more of a track and/or strip clutch but its an ETTO thing.  :happy2:
