Hi everyone :-)
« on: June 28, 2014, 09:26:24 pm »
Hi everyone,
Dropping in to say hello. I get my golf gti end of august hopefully after hand controls have been installed
I got paralysed in March 2012 just after my 24th birthday so I'm just getting around to driving again!
I will be looking at getting a few track days in then it up and going racing

That's a short into anyway!
Look forward to hearing from you all

Welcome to the forum. We have another member on here that has a mk5 GTI track car with hand controls. I will try and find his thread.

I presume your car will be DSG?

Welcome along.  NeilM has an amazing build with modified controls.  Simon andrews also has an account on here & he races in the VW cup (you may recognise his striking police car livery)

Where are you located?

Thanks guys
Yes it will be a DSG car. Don't hate but it will also be a mk7 gti
I have the opportunity for a good deal but the forums don't seem to get used so I came here
I met Neil recently at the Castle Combe vw day and I've also talked with Simon who is a fountain of info and it gave me my first desire to race cars. I used to race British championship supermoto before my accident and am missing the kick!

This forum looks to be full of life so hopefully meet a few more members and have some help along the way too

I'm located in Corsham, Wiltshire so 5 miles away from Castle Combe!

Great stuff   Look forward to seeing your Mk7 when it arrives.

The forum is quite busy, plenty of useful info, decent classifieds & plenty of banter  :drinking:

From a quick glance it looks really good!
Hopefully I can get in contact with Dave about brakes soon! Sent him a email!
Need to find some info out on what wheels are available for my brake kit when the car arrives! I've got a set of 7040 apracing calipers running 362mm discs.

If you struggle to get hold of Dave (he has a busy day job & is in demand from us lot across the forums constantly) you should try Alex at AKS Tuning (VrsAlex here) as he works closely with Dave  :happy2:

great name fella when I first clicked the topic I thought It was going to be some piss head posting :)

start a build thread in the members rides I would love to see all the modifications you do to adapt it

I was at brands hatch Monday a fella had an R1 adapted to hand controls I helped him get it off the trailer as he couldn't do it

All I can say is respect fella don't let it hold you back you got bigger balls than me  :happy2:
