wheel help?
« on: June 30, 2014, 09:32:01 pm »
I currently have 18'' et42 speedline reps and centre core of 66.6mm so im using that spigot rings, but the car is lowered 30mm on the h&r springs and is catching just on the arch screw

if I change to 8j et43 18s centre bore 57.1 so no spigot ring needed will this bring it in more than the wheels I currently have so I can stop it catching on the arch?

help needed

only by 1mm offset changes how the wheel will sit not the centre bore  :happy2:

do the arch screw mod and you will get rid of the rubbing

im assuming you running 225/40/18?

http://golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10909&highlight=arch+screw+mod

Specs of the wheels are fine you just need to do the screw mod and you will be free of rubbing

A lot of people on here run BBS VZ 18x8 et44 and do the screw mod and are fine  :happy2:

Screw mod.

Remove the arch liner screw (it's the one at the top), push the arch liner inside the arch rim, bend the bit of metal that the screw was screwed into in a bit which will stop the liner coming back out and job done.

If you want to see how much poke your going  to get with various size wheel/offset combos use  this site, just put all the info in and Bobs your uncle....

Use that calculator with 2 wheels of the same width and different offset and you will see.

18x7.5 ET51 for the Pescara's.

My BBS VZ's and TD 1.2's are both 18x8 ET44 so have 13mm more poke over my OEM Pescara's (for reference).

My OEM wheels were Pescarsa's but I needed more room for a BBK so got the 2 sets I mentioned in my previous post. Also a bonus of a much better stance. Look in my build thread for pics.

edit: In case I wasn't clear.....Pescara's are the OEM wheels for the Edition30!  :happy2:
