How to - Remove the rear seat.
« on: April 01, 2009, 01:17:15 pm »
Tools:

T30 Torx bit (6 pointed)
10mm Spline drive (12 pointed)
Wiggling arm
10 minutes of your time.

Why?

You might want to swap interiors.
Whole seat weighs 28.3kg, saves weight on track days etc.

Incidentally, the spacesaver is 14kg and the toolkit 5kg.

Method

1. Remove Isofix plastic thingies, note the shape of the grooves in the picture, you have to press down and pull them out rotating the back/top towards you.

2. Remove base, there's spring clips on the front, so feel for their location to ensure you pull in the right place. There's also some more clips towards the sides as shown. It should now pull towards you. Get your fingers under the bit near the Isofix bars to free them up, if necessary.

3. Lay the seat backs flat and using the 10mm spline, remove the seatbelt anchor.

4. Remove the plastic cover for the middle hinge and undo the screw with the T30 Torx bit, then remove the black metal cover it secures.

5. Pull the seats off the pins on the side of the car as shown... this is where you need the wiggle and it has to be the right angle.

Are the fronts the same 10mm spline drive (12 pointed)?
