What needs to be done, say, to a set of Recaro Sportster CS front seats from a Corsa VXR to make them fit into a Golf GTI 3 door? Anyone done this themselves or know a project that has?

Not sure whats required but I've seen this done before in an Edition 30 @ Ultimate Dubs earlier this year and they had the seats retrimmed to match the rear bench looked great IMO. Recaro CS's come factory fitted in Focus RS MK2's & also offered as an optional extra in the Mini Cooper R56 JCW's not Corsa VXR's although they do look slightly similar.
Focus RS MK2.
Mini Cooper R56 JCW.
Corsa VXR.

The VXR ones are much cheaper, but look almost identical. However, a set of Cobra Misano Anniversary are equally lovely. Sat in one of this are Ultimate Dubs myself...

The ones from a Corsa VXR have a different base and aren't as supportive as the ones out of Focus RS’s, Clio Sports, Mini’s etc. Eddie on here has had some VXR’s redone with the MK6 tartan which look good…

and someone else whose fitted recaro's

These come up cheap occasionally as there cloth but they are more supportive than the Corsa ones…

Those retrimmed VXR seats look amazing. I have got a set of R32 Recaros on my eBay list, although ludicrously expensive, they will plug and play (technically) into my GTI from day 1.
