Best Place to Pick Up A Decent GTi?
« on: July 09, 2014, 11:26:51 am »
Currently on the look out for a black 3 door GTi.  Since joining this forum it just makes me want one more and more, but holding out for the right one.

I have been keeping an eye on Autotrader, Gumtree, Ebay, Pistonheads and obviously on here.  Just to see if im missing any websites that people can think of?  Been looking for a month now and just really want a decent one ASAP.

Those are the right places to be looking it is just a waiting game until the right one comes along.

You could always consider other colours. I have always wanted a black car but never had one as end up buying on service history and condition.

When I was looking I found (surprisingly) that the best quality cars were on eBay. Autotrader had a lot of overpriced stuff and abused rubbish with more owners than service stamps

Thanks for the replies.

Will just need to keep a look out.  Really want one in black as i had a nice mark 3 in black then went to reflex silver on a mark 4 anniversary.  Getting any paint work done on the anniversary was a nightmare as many body shops hated blending anything in with reflex silver.

Would take a gunmetal grey car but want to stay away from silver due to past experience and red just doesnt show off the GTi's grille enough for my liking.

Thanks again

Cheers SHORTY.

The Eddy you have is very smart although I am looking at spending between roughly £6.5-7k so think it will be a standard GTi i will be getting.

Hoping to get a 3 door model in black. The car must have full service history and would like cloth interior.

Im also trying to find a completely standard car or as close as possible.

Hoping to get a car under 80K miles.

Will keep an eye out for it for when it hits the 'cars for sale' section.  How much you going to be looking for it do you think?

Is it completely standard with FSH?

Be patient - it took months for mine to come up on Autotrader (and when it did, it was hundreds of miles away).

And you want blue...

Shadow blue DSG 5 door with leather, sunroof, 18" Monzas, MFSW.
Full list of mods:  Seat inserts and a VW bottle opener.  Each worth 20bhp.
