Newbie from Scotland - about to buy my first gti
« on: July 14, 2014, 08:18:01 pm »
Hello all,

Have recently sold my evo x, am I'm in the process of replacing it with a golf gti for a year or 2 to save some money,

I'm traveling a long way on Wednesday to see a DSG model with 88k on the clock, is there any weird noises or things I should look out for other than the usual? Also any recent recalls that should have been done? I've never driven a semi auto before so is there any combo of gears I should check when driving? My evo x was a manual and didn't even try the sst,

Cheers  :happy2:

So thanks for all your help  :signLOL:

Anyway I bought it and it was an almost 400 mile drive home, very pleased by the mpg on the way home, cruised mostly at 80 with a couple of blasts,

Stopped at the petrol station almost home:

Will start a progress thread soon once I clean it up,

Cheers mate, yeah although I miss the speed and handling of the evo, the gti just feels a nicer place to be,

Will do, as I'm unsure what little extras it has, just by browsing the forum I've noticed I have highline display, and I have gti inserts on the seat adjuster, also a sort of shark fin aerial that others don't seem to have, I don't even know what's meant to be standard or not on them lol,
