I just started a post myself about this (will delete it now). I think these are quite a cool idea, for me anyway as I plan to do my own service work (filters, fluids, brakes and light repairs) so having these on will prevent me damaging my car body work.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

These were one of the first 'mods' I carried out on mine (in 2011) in preparation for jacking to do all sorts of other work in addition to changing wheels.  Have been brilliant making life so much easier and can't recommend enough!  I went with the rear versions front and rear as I think they provide a better location for a trolley jack with less risk of lateral force damage when only lifting one side/corner.

If it helps, part numbers for the ones I fitted were 8N0 804 583 and 8N0 803 855 for the two parts for each corner.
OEM+ 2005 GTI DSG (high factory standard spec and upgraded with S3 alloy hubs, S3 alloy wishbones, Bilstein B8s and VWR springs by my own hands) owned since 2008 and still loving it!

.............thanks mate. I take it you don't leave them in all the time & only use them when you want to jack the car up?.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161161332835?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 - Simple and effective if you're only jacking the car up once or twice?

They stay in permanently so are always ready when you need them.

These go in so tight with the trolley jack, I doubt you could get them out if you wanted to.
Makes jacking the car seem reassuringly safe as the trolley jack cannot slip out at all, if the car ever was to move the trolley jack has to go with it.
I just bought one for front to aid oil changes really......mainly because I'm tight..or economical as I like to call it  :ashamed:
