2014 - Audi S3
« on: July 20, 2014, 10:14:47 pm »
.... wish it was mine....  :sad1: Really looking forward to having a go in it. Apparently its very nice and goes like stink, even with only 80miles on the clock.

Fully loaded with LED headlights etc, only a few things not spec'd.

Agree about the wheels. In the past between the S3 and the Golf R I'd have said have the Golf, but I understand the A3 range gets some lightweight panels that the Golf doesn't get, so maybe it's the one to have this time around. Certainly this generation of S3 is better looking than the R. In the past I never thought that was the case.

My little sis has a 5dr one in white, looks a lot more "blingy" on the front though, might be spec'd differently. Its an Audi so it does what it says on the tin. Have not driven it but it looks ok, rear end is best with the quads. Inside is a tad boring but that might just be my tatse.

Her hubby has an modded B8 S4 and reckons the S3 will be a right weapon with just a map. (That won't be happening).

my brothers got one and i can't stand it boring interior and the exterior looks like every other a3 exempt the exhausts

No hatchback should have a quad exhaust IMO

Without a doubt it is fast but it doesn't have any feeling to it and defiantly not worth £37k

Its also very uncomfortable in the back with a pathetic boot

Any day of the week id have a Cupra R over a mk7 R or  s3

This has got the black pack so no chrome bling.

his was 37k got a few extras like led headlights and led interior or something

I was more excited for my brother getting a VW UP than the S3  :signLOL:

Personally was really disappointed with how it drove too was expecting it to be much better!

Holy Moly are they that much?
That's 2014 Cayman money...it would be hard to walk away from this:

That said, I bet the new S3 will map extremely well.  Do they and the Golf 7R use the same brake setup as the previous gen?

Your comparing chalk and cheesy cheese though. The S3 isn't for peeps wanting a Gayman (or vice versa). I don't imagine anyone actually hands over £37k for one, my sisters one is a lease job. You'd have to be raving to spank £40k cash on hatchback.

Hope the LEDs are better than the ones on the Leon (I doubt it, though).

You would also currently struggle to find a cayman under list at the moment and they start at £39k. The one pictured is an S and they start at £49k !!

When you start to look to spend £40k then you are getting very close to 997 Carrera territory. If you can live with the running costs as opposed to the depreciation on a hatchback then I know which I would have despite the limitation on luggage capacity
