Your fuel range

Seemingly i get higher mpg/range than other people so wanted to discuss what sort of MPG/range you get

The least I've had was 300 miles and that was the week after my remap, so I was raggo around.

Average is about 380, regularly get over 400.. most I've had was 478 with 15 miles of range remaining. This did include being stuck in traffic for about 90 minutes, so comfortably could have done 500 miles on this tank had the M6 been nicer.

When I do use mine i average about 280 on my stage2+ Eddy but its ALL town miles, start/stop. Never see over 23mpg on the clock unless I leave town and get on a open road then its 380+ and around 36mpg. Thank god I never bought it for fuel economy.

well mine is daily and I live say 5 miles from work so hardly gets warmed up in mornings... I am averaging 300 miles to a tank..

I honestly don't believe it's possible to get 630miles from a tank of fuel, what size is the gti tank?

Yeh it's was a bit confusing, he said KM above and miles below, but it not possible to get 630miles from a gti, even 630km is a lot.

Mines very variable but I've managed over 400 before. Highest mpg I've seen on a journey is 39.8, since getting cruise control that seems to have helped a lot

Between 330-350 miles out of mine from full tank to light on.

But I don't really do any marathon driving sessions- best I've ever had was 50.7 over 31 miles!

Standard GTI:
Around 350 to possibly 450  miles per full tank. Don't keep an eye on my consumption really as i feel i'd lose some enjoyment out of driving the car if i was constantly watching my MPG. Unless of course i was on a long 2 - 3 hour journey, then i will see what the highest it can reach is in that time for a bit of fun more than anything. Its not always about performance for me so i get enjoyment out of driving at all speeds.
I mostly do town driving then on any 60/70 roads i tend to give it a short but quick push up to speed limit then knock it into 6th again. So mixed modes of driving. Im quite happy with the amount of mpg i get considering its a 2L turbo and my old 1.6 FSI didn't do much better in terms of milage per tank.

Highest MPG i've had is 42.7 when i first got the car and haven't seen that figure since.. Had 40.2 once or twice but that was after maybe 15 miles and the car had warmed up and also using 6th at 30ish. i could manage to get 30MPG or very close too, after 2 mile of driving without waiting for the car to warm up when idling as i know some people tend to sit in their car for 5 minutes or so to warm but i choose the method of get moving and just keep it under 2k revs until its warm.

I take photos of my consumption every time I fill up and put them into the spreadsheet! I drive very economically, always shift at 2000 rpm and my journey is perfect motorway miles at 80km/hr in 6th gear with no traffic or lights!! I'll upload the actual miles per tank when I'm on my computer because I know the reserve tank isn't very reliable!

Warm weather works treat for fuel economy, I'm upto about 36mpg at the moment and was previously 32ish on my 22m commute each way up the A1.  Plus I think starting to use better oil has helped too, but that might be hoping

For those that are standard like myself, i have read a pre cat removal would help MPG.. Does anything else like PCV, types of diverter valves, types of oil used etc make any difference even if minimal?
