Engine starts

Guys

I was wondering if anyone gets a problem starting there gti up mostly in he morning.

Mine makes a stutter and then starts

 VW say they cannot find a problem with it.

Anyone got any ideas

Seems odd

Mine made the same noise you're referring to. It would turn over but it just took a few more turn overs.

Changed battery to a high performance one and fixed it straight away.

Might be worth your while finding another GTI owner with a high performance battery and giving it a try before buying one?

I think I got an Exide EA640.

Capacity and cold test current are much higher than stock battery.
