What's next after the GTI?
« on: July 22, 2014, 05:13:42 pm »
So after 3 years and owning 2 MK5 Golf GTI's, 310bhp ED30 with DSG and a whole list of mods & my current long term GTI fairly stock manual KO3 car along Side an E39 M5. I'm starting to think what next...??

My short list so far,

E92 M3 possibly with DCT
B7 RS4
C63 AMG
Another ED30
S3 sport back S-Tronic
Golf/Scirocco R

Opinions??

If it was my money I'd be all over the C63, it's not the fastest but I love that car

But for my and my budget I think my next car will be a turbo R32 in a few years hopefully.

For me I'm thinking either a Mk7 GTI or BMW M135i when I next change as want something new/ nearly new. I've thought long and hard about the S3 and R but they just lack a bit of character/ sense of occasion.

RS4 or C63 would get my vote! As let's be honest the VAG Haldex system is front biased anyway...

C63 is very appealing but in the second hand market prices are still firm for cars with performance packs and decent milage compared to RS4 and M3 but Defo worth a look

Any other alternative I should look at? Was also looking at 997 Carrera S2

MK7 R makes a lot of sense, once the value has dropped  :innocent:

I like them until I see that front bumper  :fighting2: it's so boring from the front, still tho it's got some power waiting to be released I can't wait to see the stage 2 figures with hardware. Isn't stage one 350bhp ish?

My previous cars were a b7 RS4, then e92 m3 with dct box and now I'm back with my gti on stage 1, looking at stage 2 and loving it. Enough said?   :happy2:

Ultimately, it depends on your drive, mine reduced to 10 mins to work so golf is perfect, rthe s4 and m3 didn't really get a chance to be wound up, which you have to do to go 'fast', whereas turbo, well they just woooosh! HNdling on the two were of course surblime.

Fancy a porsche though!

Wish I could afford a GT3  :sad1:

MK6 R is very appealing along with the TTRS, Would love to see a TTRS at stage 2+ :driver:

Just seen a nice MK6 GTI for sale with some tasty Recaros, KO4 and stage 2+ plus hardware. 16Ktho  :fighting:

Saw one in the flesh at Crewe VW yesterday, soooo much smarter than the MK7 GTI. I think the look will get better with age. Interior is superb, looks a really nice place to be.
