whats your gti worth
« on: October 29, 2009, 12:19:23 am »
i payed 16k for my gti from vw its a manual 57reg options include 18inch alloys arm rest and a few other goodies
had 14k on the clock had it for 7months but heres the problem!
Im seeing lower spec gtis and some dsg gtis with basicly no extras and shabby bodywork and 17inch alloys 2yrs older priced at 15k
so either i got a very good bargain or car prices have gone up in the second hand market

seat did offer me 15 half grand for my car with 20k on the clock and thats a dealer and we all know they crooks lol

I work in sales @ a VW main dealer, 12 months ago everything started to get hit really hard (bookprice), recently car prices have krept up slowly but surely, most cars are still rising each month.

Unless your planning to re-sell why do you want to know what its worth? I couldn't give a rats a$$ what mine is worth as it's worth to me is far greater than I could sell it for anyway.

Plus it's only 'worth' what someone will pay for it!

The price will obv vary depending on where your selling it, and what method too! im sure you can get an idea from places like pistonheads and autotrader n then adjust accordingly!

seat priced it because i asked what deal would they give me on a 07 cupra and mine the cupra was up for 16k i jus wanted to see what the dealers wouid offer.
No way i would exchange my gti for a cupra! The cupras good but not a golf gti!

I am sure many will remember but I paid £13,750 in February for a mint condition Mar '07 (nearly 2yo) 3dr Ed30, 1 owner, 20k and a decent spec.

I had a wad of cash no trade in and as it was a second car for wifey so had good bargining power, but the market was very very bad at the beginning of the year.

I think things are now getting back to ware they should be.

Mine's probably worth nothing monetarily these days but there's nothing I don't believe in more than throwing good money after bad

I'd appreciate your opinion on this one please men, black 07 Ed30 3dr, 20k, DSG , Xenons, MFSW, Hi-line, Heated seats, no nav, no park sensors.
Pitch,  yours was a bargain even then !   I sold my well specced 06 GTI in april this year for 13k  and been looking for an Ed30 since !  But as you say, I have watched the prices steadily climb to the current levels where ed30s are overlapping with same age S3s !!

so let me get this right. you went to seat to see how much they would give you for your GTI against a cupra but you would never swap your gti for one???  :stupid: :stupid: pointless thread. your car is worth what people are willing to pay for them. mine personally will always be worth more to me than what someone else would pay

i went to seat to look at a ibiza when their a cupra caught my eye and as it was up for what i payed for my gti i asked how much they would give me for mine against it! No real intention of buying it just wanted to see what a dealer would offer me for it as i thought i payed a little to much at the time!
After i put a deposit on the gti i went on autotrader and saw ed30s for less or similiar money. I know that its worth more than when you go to sell it but 7months ago when i brought it car prices where a little different anyway steve
