Evening all I'm after a bit of help please.

We have a mk5 gti with stage 2+remap, twin take, twintercooler, decade and an oil catch tank.

I keep getting a reoccurring misfire on cylinder two and oil on the plug if driven around town too often, once I swap the plug the oil burns away and drives fine for a few weeks then happens again. Has anyone got any idea what may the the cause of getting oil in cylinder two please?

If the car is used everyday by my mrs for her commute to work its fine on the a roads it's just within a few days of town driving the oil doesn't get burnt off as fast.

What could the possible causes be so I know where to start please.

Thanks everyone,

Gates

I've just had a really bad cylinder 2/random misfire event fixed by replacing the injector.

How are you sure oil is getting in?

Because when I take the plug out it's soaked in oil.

I'm no mechanic, but how about doing a compression test on the cylinders to see if mechanically all ok in no2.?

Does the car burn oil?

I would look at compression/leak test.

Thanks everyone I'll get the car into my garage next week and get him to look it over I was just hoping to have a possible idea what it could be so I could brace myself, I had thought compression test/head gasket but was hoping it may be something easier/cheaper :-(

It's going through around 1/2 liter of oil every 1-1.5k miles.
