Problem with aircon.
« on: July 24, 2014, 07:05:11 pm »
Sorry i know theres loads of aircon threads.

Anyway problem ive had is.

About a month ago i took it to halfords for a top up, they said it wasn't getting any pressure so must have a leak. So i took to a4audi in clydebank.

They said they would flush it with a die and service it so they said it was all ok no leaks etc, they topped it up.

It worked but i didn't think it was as cold as it was suppose to be but it was cold enough, anyway today its blowing slightly cold air at first then its just hot air after a few seconds.

It seems to switch on fine as in the engine you can hear it when i switch on and off.

So does this sound like a leak or a bigger problem. Also i don't see how the garage would miss it.

Any ideas would be great.

If there's a leak, the dye will help you to find it.  Use a UV lamp in the engine bay to find it.  Most common source is the pressure switch.

Am just hoping its not a compressor. But seems to be kicking in.

They did check for leaks but said it was fine.

Will get it checked out tomorrow hopfully.

Try and get VCDS hooked up to it so you can do  a scan for faults on the HVAC controller, and check the advanced measuring block values.
