No external aerial
« on: July 27, 2014, 01:31:51 am »
My car has no external aerial but the radio reception is very good.

Does anybody know if I have one but installed somewhere else?

Mine is the only one I've ever noticed which doesn't have an external aerial.

Cheers

Rick

One of the benefits of an early model before vw did some cost cutting  your aerial like mine is built into the tailgate glass. When I first got mine I was considering buying a stubby aerial, when I went outside to see what was currently fitted i realised I didn't have one  :signLOL:

I've no doubt there are plenty more, I've just never noticed any others.

I'll check the rear window then :-)

Yeah it was a 2006 cost cutting change reverting  back to the external aerial. They then made a u-turn with the Mk6 which shares the same setup as the early Mk5s with the aerial built into the rear screen

And all the Jetta models have the rear screen aerial.  :jumping:
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

What exactly does it look like? I've just had a quick look at my rear window and I can't see anything which looks like an aerial. Does it look like the demisting wires?
