Aux in

I am thinking of buying this item from ebay

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Female-3-5mm-AUX-Audio-Input-Cable-for-Audi-VW-SKODA-SEAT-MP3-iPod-iPhone-Music-/221496366165?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AVW%7CPlat_Gen%3AMK+V&hash=item3392365455

a lot cheaper than the connects 2 one

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-AUX-input-adaptor-interface-Golf-Mk5-jack-RCD300-RCD500-CTVVGX004-Volkswagen-/321464029843?pt=UK_In_Car_Technology&hash=item4ad8bfd293

in the link description it has a list of models it will fit, it includes mk5 GTI,, anyone tried this item before?

I cant tell from the image but do the connectors look similar to the connects 2 one? guessing it is, £6 seems a bargain  may just buy it  :signLOL:

I think the cheaper one only works with newer cars as VW didn't add official AUX input support until 2007. The connects2 system would work with older units too since it emulates a cd changer

think im gonna go with the connects 2 one after today, managed to install the one I got from ebay, got it working but the sound quality was terrible almost like the headphone jack wasnt in properly so was kinda distorted, not the full sound coming through, checked the leads all looked fine, think its something to do with earth connection? this aux unit only has one lead , red and back in one wire, connects 2 one has bigger set of leads with multiple wires  :stupid: so I guess I only wasted around 6 quid, oh well will search for cheapest connects 2 lead now :happy2:
