BBS VZ
« on: July 27, 2014, 08:37:27 pm »
So I purchased a set of new BBS VZ wheels last wk, had them fitted and within a week 2 of them have buckles!!

Called the company I purchased them off brand new and he's asked me to send them back so he can send them to BBS to be inspected. The wheels are brand new, never drove through any potholes etc so I'm shocked!

Whilst I was removing the wheels I noticed they have some slight bubbles under the paint as if they they have been refurbished.. Apart from that they are blemish free and look brand new

I find this a bit odd from some brand new wheels, especially BBS.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

So you fitted them, hit a ditch, now found out they have buckled?!

Or is it another set of wheels you are referring to in this post?

Are the snapped bolts the same side as the buckled wheels?

Yep feeling a bit gutted just now tbh, could be worse tho

I'm more confused why my brand new BBS VZ wheels have what seems like corrosion under the finish and have bucked so easily...

I've had 15 year old honda wheels, old bmw wheels and my Stock Monzas take more of a beating and stay round and undamaged  :stupid:

Didnt BBS have a problem with the finish of wheels for a bit?

I heard that bbs had a problem with the anthracite finish and could not garentee a perfect finish on them, but could if you chose the standard silver..

I fitted a brand new set of VZ's 2 months ago.. Seem ok, but I've not tried off roading in them..  :signLOL:

Can't beat the quality of OEM products..

If you look at the price of the OEM CHs on the Audi compared to the price of the VZs there's a huge difference.
For Basically the same wheel..

I would say the build quality and finish are reflect in this...

Mines are silver. I'd expect a much higher quality finish for a BBS wheel.

My old ED30 ran stock Pescaras and took a bashing on Edinburgh roads and they were still perfect. I agree, nothing like OE quality... Main reason I bought new Pescaras was to avoid the very situation I'm in
