My Steel Grey GT Sport 170 DPF
« on: July 28, 2014, 01:02:15 pm »

Hi all,

Well i picked my car up on Saturday and i have to say i am very pleased :)

This is my 4th VW Golf but my first Mk5 and although i have spent a lot of hours behind the wheel of my mums ED30 i had to buy a diesel due to the commute i do to work (approx 1,500 miles per month)

So the details are 57 plate Steel Grey, 3 door, 46k on the clock, parking sensors, ipod connection in armrest, just been serviced and MOT's and cambelt, water pump and air con have all just been done by the vw dealer i bought it from.

Gave it a clean yesterday and i had already bought some bits for it so at the moment as it stands

LED Sidelights
LED Numberplate Lights - now fitted
Pressed Plates (not on yet until my retention cert arrives from the DVLA etc)
Stubby Aerial - now fitted
GTi front fog light grills - now fitted
Removed Nokia Phone Holder lol

Here is a few pics, i have a lot of plans to make this car very OEM+ but they will be gradually done as its a daily driver - next plan is some suspension and some wheels

Comments are welcome

Thanks Ollie :)

Yeah i like the colour i was a bit confused as i thought there was only one shade of Golf Grey but when i got to my mums this morning her ED30 is a bit of a darker colour, shame really as i thought i maybe able to pick up ED30 parts and swap them over without any need for spraying lol !

I am loving the smooth gti grill you have do you have a link as to how this was done or is it just a part that you buy to replace the original one with the plate holder on ?

Awesome gti do the holeless gti grill.
First dibs on your sport grill if you decide to sell it, a pheasants head has taken a chunk out of one horizontal slat....on the plus side it won't be doing that again...... :signLOL:

Today's minor mod

I will also be de-badging the rear when i get home tonight, and at the weekend probably taking the rear wiper out - well as soon as i can find a decent how to guide and a nice bung to put in the hole

Nice car and very good base for modifying .
I think some OEM LED Valeo taillights or at least some R32 ones would like awesome on your color!

There are a lot of DIYs for the wiper delete. I used and highly recommend this:

Best of luck!

Thanks Rex, i will go for that if i comes with a good recommendation, i have seen lots of rubber bungs but they all look a bit cack, having a glass one sitting flush with a sealent makes me feel much more comfortable against the leaks (poxy country we live in) !!

I'll take a look in the how to's and see if i can find one that uses this glass stopper :)
