Celtic Tuning
« on: November 02, 2009, 11:25:44 am »

Morning,

Yes i've only had it a week but i want a remap. :jumping:

Anyone had experience with Celtic tuning? Realise the figures are a little optimistic but having been out in
a friends tdi this weekend i was impressed.

Revo seem to the choice tuner but as Celtic are only charging £326 inclusive it would be silly not to look into
using them.

Thanks in advance.

James

Sounds good.

Couple of questions....

Is it an aggressive map?
Fuel economy better/worse with normal driving
Did the map get better in the first 100miles?
Have you had it on the rollers?
Car still 100% reliable
Did you have the straight map or take the tuning box???

Cheers

James

i can vouch for Joes car being a FAST car. Its one of the quickest K03 cars ive seen pass me! maybe thats joes right foot, but its real quick, even past police vans! haha!

its just a stright map, no box.
It gets about 20% better in the first 100 miles yes.
had it RR'd a few times and ive had 260bhp 320 torque. but i have TBE, intake and FMIC.
its very torquey at low revs and peak boosts at around 22psi (ive seen 26psi  :chicken:) and then tails off around the 5k.
Theres also a small flat spot in mine at high revs in 4th gear but then pics back up. I think this may be a faults somewhere with my car though.

Joe,

Just did a quick search, did you ever get to the bottom of your boost problem? was it map related?

Cheers

it was actuall my DV,
Awesome had mounted it incorrectly sideways so it was 'sticking out'

Not map related.

Celtic seem pritty good, they are mobile and have been back to me twice (from cornwall) just to ease my mind and try a few different maps.

Funnily enough the only place I have heard of them is on Briskoda.

They get quite a mixed review and based on that I would be spending my hard-earned elsewhere.
