Faulty ESP Traction Control
« on: August 03, 2014, 06:12:27 pm »
Hi Guys, I recently had my passenger side wheel hub/bearing kit complete unit replaced. Ever since then the ESP seems to be playing up. Whenever you start the car from having been off for more than say 10mins or so......u pull away and any first turning you take, be it left or right or a roundabout....whatever....the traction starts flashing violently and cuts the power, this is regardless of speed or throttle input, i then have to let off the throttle or keep it pinned or in the position im in, it stops flashing after about 5-10 seconds and then gives me power back. really scary at times on some roundabouts if you have parked up or something with car off. But its strange how this only happens ONCE then the rest of the drive.....be it 2mins or 2hrs it won't do it again......its as if it then recalibrates itself after that initial hiccup.

Any ideas on what it could be???

Start with a diagnostics scan mate.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

Try doing live log session with vcds>abs brakes -03>measuring blocks> type in 001 and start logging at a constant 30 mph

Without traction power is nothing!
