I dont think it may be a power issue as you said the camera does flip open so the reverse signal is working.  May be the coaxial cable. I would trace the wire to ensure there arent any kinks in it anywhere.

Does the badge mech and the camera run off the same power source then? Or does the camera need another power source to turn it on? My camera didnt need a permenant feed but it is a bumper version

Had a problem like this and it turned out to be the 2760? firmware I had downloaded. Tried downloading from a different site and undated which solved the problem.

Camera needs a permanent live.

The camera needs a permanent so that you can use it to open the boot

when i had this problem it was because the yellow trigger wire on my loom wasn't making a good enough connection with the reverse light...

Ill check the things you have all sugested and let you all know soon thanks lads im sure it was a permenant live I put it to therse only 2 spare fuse ports to put another circuit into.

if it works of a switched live then you must have wired it to a switched live
