Removing bootlid badge
« on: August 06, 2014, 01:51:10 am »
What's the safest way to do this without damaging paint. It's on the bootlid off a CLK55.

Any ideas? The perv owner has added it himself so hasn't been on for that long

If it's one of these that just sticks on with the double sided foam, I tie some fishing line between 2 screwdrivers then pull the line behind the badge like a cheese wire. Then use some tar and glue remover to remove the backing or sticky residue that's left.

I normally heat it up a bit then get some floss behind it and remove all the residue with tar and glue remover.

Thanks. I'll try some fishing line or similar :-)
