Hate my wheels... What do you guys think, Be gentle!
« on: August 08, 2014, 10:27:38 pm »
Bought my GTI about 2 months ago, absolutely love it. My last car was a Clio 182 which was a great toy, but I needed to get a grown ups car so went for the golf. Found this Laser blue locally on auto trader, hated the wheels and the colour to be honest but I liked the price £5000, so I was sold.... Came with a cat back miltek,so far I've put a forge intake on it and im saving for the hardware for a stage 2 map from RTech. My birthday next month so hopefully will get funds to put toward new rims, looking at standard Monza18, 3sdm or replica bbs.Funds are tight at the moment as going back to college. What do you think thanks in advance.

Don t think it's the wheels it needs lowering or do they stick out of the arch

I think they look quite nice, the problem is the ride height, if it was dropped 40mm then it would look a loads better

I'll take em off your hands!  :signLOL:

Never been a fan of BBS. Monzas are simple but finish the gti off nicely.

I'd love to lower it slightly, but unfortunately the arch would probably sit on the tyre....

Oh they do stick out pretty far, couldn't see that from the other angles. If they're not for you then there's a few thousand other options out there

Bloody hell they stick out, could almost be described as a trip hazard!

Wheel style is ok, colour of said wheels is also ok against your cars colour (which is a beauty btw).

Isn't it illegal to run wheels outside the body line?

They scream wrong offset to me - either that or spacers, but I doubt your running those unless using some aftermarket callys.

They are nice rims though. :happy2:

No, you can have 30mm from the furthest point of the arch..

The wheels will tuck in further if you lower it.. offset looks to be around 35 assuming they are 8 or 8.5 inch wheels which is a tad high but workable with some stretch.

No spacers, wrong offset I guess... Thanks for the feedback! Thinking of buying some springs then will see how she looks. Would rather put the money towards my stage 2 hardware to be fair, but anything to help how they look cosmetically as they do annoy me a lot!

The TREAD has to be under the arch. The sidewall can be exposed hence why we stretch

Yeh I heard the rule is if you look straight down at the wheel and you can see tread that's illegal.
