Having a bit of a nightmare with my gti at the moment.....
I was fixing an intercooler pipe leak and cleaning my airbox/filter last weekend, all went well, drove my car out of the garage and left it, went to drive it a couple of hours later and it was running horrendously lumpy and as soon as you put the throttle down it would just cut out. I discovered if I unplugged the Maf sensor it would idle fine and run but it was just in what i guess to be limp mode as it was just dumping the boost out and wouldn't take throttle at all, but at least i could get it home. I then plugged it in to my mates Vagcom and as suspected it came up air flow sensor... So i got a new maf from my local vw, fitted it tonight and its the exact same still?
Do i need to plug it back in to wipe any codes before it'll take the new sensor? or any ideas what it could be?
