DV Finally changed !!!!

Finally got round to changing my DV today. Rev C to a Rev G. What a ball ache the top bolt is but glad it's done, dunno if it's in my head or not but the old one wasn't split so not leaking boost but with the new one fitted the car feels a lot more pokey

Yeah KO3, I have access to a ramp to went in from underneath which made the top bolt a right pain !

I'm glad I fitted a DV+ valve, hope never to have to attack this job again!

DV+ should be more robust, but the tuners have found it to leak boost like a Rev D.

As you know, but perhaps others don't, you can relocate the DV on K03 like the K04, if one can be assed.  Saves cooking the diaphragm G'ster - which I seem to do invariably .

IMHO this is the best thing for K03 cars. My Ed30 still had it's original Rev C on at 68k miles with no holes. Moving it away from the turbo makes a big difference

Ordered my rev G Dv yesterday for my 2007 Gti and had quick look underneath today ! Dont look too bad a job and deffo dont see the benefit of removing the arch liner!
If you think this is tricky try doing heater matrix hoses on a mk1 focus Rs

Defo going in underneath is the way to go, not that bad a job just the top bolt blind but no danger

It's not a bad job. Max 15 mins with a 1/4inch ratchet, 2-3 inch extension and a hex bit.

Replaced my DV 3 months ago and they fitted a rev D, should this
Been fitted with the G automatically by the vw garage?
