Black fingernails.
« on: August 08, 2014, 01:43:03 pm »
Does anyone remember when they were kids, jamming your fingers in a car door, dropping a stone on them, or anything like that. Black fingernails were always impressive, and hurt like hell.

Well, guess what happens when you drop 30Kgs of cast iron cooker hotplate on the end of two fingers.   :scared:

Yeah, alright. I was just getting some pics, along with trying to wash the oil off beforehand.  :signLOL:

Pics don't really give any idea of the pain, and the fingernails are still developing their proper colour, but you get the idea.

I would trephine the nail on both those fingers asap to release the blood from under there.

Not a chance mate. When I was about 6 or 7 my mother took me to the docs when I had a fat black thumb. He scared the absolute crap out of me with a hot wire and burnt a hole through my nail. I'm not having that done again while I still have a hole in my arse.

Oh, and the colour is developing nicely now.

That's going to start to throb like hell ... I had the same thing with the hot wire mine was a straight paper clip over a bunsen burner !!!! As an engineer I do end up with a black nail now and then and I get a 1mm drill bit and "Manually" drill my nail by rotating the bit between my fingers... works every time enjoy

I did it in a car door about 6 years ago, took a year for the nail to drop of and fully grow back again! Worst pain ever!
