AKS TTRS/DB9 Brembo + 362mm AP Review
Biano44:
Having had my TTRS calipers/ TTS discs fitted a couple weeks ago I can categorically say these brakes are immense and far better Stronger than the NQSBBK I had fitted to the Golf.
If I had any complaints, the RS4-2's are still quite aggressive compared to the DS2500 I'm used to.

There has been 2 sets of f40 calipers with problems. Mine which were refurbished and montes which came off Alex's VRS. The were fine on the VRS but as soon as they were fitted to the golf they suffered the same effect as mine. I.e jamming pistons.
Plus. The brackets that I had on with the f40 calipers were IMO rubbish and sat the caliper/pad too far out (presumably they were for the 370mm disc not actually for the 362mm)
I am much happier with these now. The pads sits perfectly on the edge of the disc. :happy2:

Rich without wanting to hijack your thread thats really quite inaccurate (wrong!). The caliper bracket for the F40 caliper is actually configured for the 362 and then it had a laser cut machined plate installed with longer bolts to actually adapt the kit to the 370mm rotor, the 362mm/370mm discs are the same offset on purpose.....cant think why
In addition race pads are notoriously inaccurate in manufacture, this is why when kits are manufactured its always done with NEW bearings/discs and OEM pads. You have to have a datum somewhere, Pagid are the worse for shape thickness and alignment, Mintex are the best....
IMO of course

Ok... well thats just what I found and saw and presumed wrongly then. Must just be the pads inaccurate manufacturing... either way it wasnt right. However the RS42 pads in the DB9 calipers fit perfectly on the edge of the disc.... maybe just a fluke?
Sadly dont have pics, but I would say they over hung 3-4mm on the F40s (hence me wrongly presuming 370-362 = 8mm/2 = 4mm overhang )
Anyway.... all I will say is these so far (touch wood) have been problem free.
vRSAlex:
Was about 1mm overhang at the worst point. Mainly as that Brembo F40 caliper is designed for a smaller disc so it's really the pad shape that makes it overhang.
