AKS TTRS/DB9 Brembo + 362mm AP Review
« on: August 13, 2014, 10:47:23 am »
Just some pics to start.... review will come in a week or so.

Brembo TTRS/DB9 Caliper

362mm AP rotor 54mm narrow-ish flange (light)

Pagid RS4-2 pads

HEL lines

Caliper  =2.95kg
Bracket = 0.34kg
Bell/Rotor = 8.65
Pads = 1.0kg (NB... this is the weight of the f40/50 pads... ttrs/db9 pads are lighter as they have less material on them)

12.94kg per corner

vs

18.5kg per corner

The only review I will give at the moment is they stop the car nauseatingly quickly. The steering wheel also is much lighter.

-------
Update 29/8/14

So... a few miles have passed. They seem to be getting better and better as the pads bed in. The pedal is quite different vs the R32 setup, the "meat" of the braking comes in a bit later in the pedal travel, I dont see this as a pro or a con really... its just different.

The difference it has made to the way the car drives is quite noticeable. I was convinced that my bushes/dampers were shot and was lining up to get the car fully polybushed, this wont be happening now. The car travels over rough roads much more comfortably (might still look at dampers at some point). With the R32 setup the front end was fairly crashy, and the lightness of the new BBK has made me even more away of how heavy they were. As I have mentioned before the steering is also much lighter now, or if not lighter certainly there is less resistance when you turn the wheel.

Of course, the bit I dont really need to mention is how well they brake. They are ridiculous. Some may say these are overkill, and yes they are  :innocent: I doubt Ill ever find the limit of these on the roads and that suits me absolutely fine.

...cause you didn't weigh the pad retaining spring  :P

Look amazing, I wonder what the difference in weight between the 362mm & 370mm setups is.

I wanted them to say    BRAKES   but it would have meant another refurb.

12mm to retain the pescaras... which was a caveat of the brake kit. I dont want to run aftermarket wheels.
