So Eddie fitted all the good stuff and I asked if he fit a Chrome tipped switch for the boot and filler cap.....
Then I fitted LED's in the interior, Thanks to Matt Towers for his help with that.
Then I fitted some LED day running lights. These are a PITA to find and I eventually found some in the USA, £30 odd quid though
The old style bulbs that are fitted as standard, make the car look so old!
Next up were the puddle lights in the mirrors. These are normally halogens but they are no way near as effective as the one's fitted in the mk5 Golf due to them being smaller so again I took my chances on EBAY and ordered some LED one's....
This is actually one of my favourite mods as they are so effective!!!!
So now I was making the car more personal to me and the more I did so, the more I like the car but there was one thing I hated, the size of the gap between the tyre and the arch..
I mean just look at it, its ridiculous
The problem was what to do about it, I really, really didn't want to ruin the plush ride which was further complicated by the fact that the CC has adjustable dampers. So after a lot of research I decided to go with Eibach springs complemented by an H&R anti roll bar, plus Audi S3 swing arms, Super Pro bushes and Audi TT bushes in the consoles, all fitted by Alex at AKS plus a full alignment.
So, here's what it looks like straight off the ramp.....
And then I left it!.........except while at AKS, Alex said "do you want some TTRS brakes?" "No, not really. I want some 19" Lugano's really" I said. "Well you'd need 19's to fit them under anyway" he said.
Well, have you ever tried finding the factory wheels you really want at a price you want to pay?
As luck should have it, after missing 2 sets on Ebay, I managed to grab a set. I had to travel to the bottom of the country to get them but I thought it was worth it.
And I wasn't wrong the car looked fantastic!!!!
But now, the offer of the brakes was playing on my mind and of obviously big wheels need big brakes behind them right?
So I spoke to Alex, who spoke to someone, who sent me some calipers.
Which was great except.......
The wheels completely killed the ride and I mean ruined it!! I'm not sure why, they were heavier for sure and after speaking with Alex, he suggested that the tyres (Kumho) would be a major contributing factor. I gave it a week and then decided to put the old wheels back on, much to the delight of SHMBO and quite a few friends/neighbours.
As she stands now........
