Porsche 4 pot upgrade
« on: September 11, 2014, 09:30:49 am »
Hi all,
Looking  for  bit of advice thinking of upgrading  brakes on my edition30 and was wondering if anyone has fitted porsche 4 pot calipers?? If so what porsche calipers do I go for 968,boxster etc and is it a good setup??I have 18" wheels and want to keep it that way. What do I need to get along with calipers?? Or would I be better with tts setup ??
Thanks  :happy2:-)

Following the same path with my ed 30. Considering stg 2 so need to get on with this?

I am looking for a definitive answer re spacers, and assoc longer bolts, required with Creation Motor sport NQSBBK (986 calipers ON 330MM DISCS) when mounting behind std vw Pescaras.
Can you please help?

What are the implications of running with spacers on this car/setup?
I'd rather not, being an old fella, spacers bring back unhappy memories of mini cooper days  (BMC not bmw!) and these are not good....

Thanks.

Providing you get hubcentric H&R spacers then you wont have any side effects. Ive run both 8mm and 12mm spacers, and couldnt tell any difference.

... required with Creation Motor sport NQSBBK (986 calipers ON 330MM DISCS)...

Since it's a Boxster/Cayman NON S model, the maximum thickness of the disc is 24/25 mm.
Where did you find 330x25mm discs?
Since the thickness is far more important than the diameter, why would you bother with 330x25 discs when you can get 312x25 discs?

I got them new second hand, off this forum, but was told they came from Creation M sport, here. Apparently they are modifiedmerc discs?

Porche 4 pot....
Looks like I'm mixing up my Porche model numbers? Sorry!? :ashamed:

I have the ca!iper part numbers shown in the CM ad, they are cast into the calipers so even i cant b@ lls that up?
Sorry, have no idea if these were from a 986, or what ever...wont pretend it was a typo!

My intention was to help op with some info. Apparently pescaras require 12 mm spacers?
