Sorry for those genuine mechanics that are trustworthy working for a main dealer, but you are few and far between.

Give your keys to the manager and tell him he had 3 days to get it sorted. If not, make a social media mockery out of his garage.

Find yourself a good VAG specialist, I know one in Bedfordshire - top bloke, I would trust him with my kids, let a lone my car!

You guys should try parking in Barcelona. My wife also thinks i'm weird as i refuse to park outside our house.

I take our other car if i know parking will be tight problem is its always tight.

People think its ok to bump other cars when you park i dread the day i have to confront someone as its totally normal to them.



That's how folks park where i live! (West London) And we get shed loads of supermarket delivery vans  :fighting:

I'm seeing the manager of the place on Monday. On the phone they said they are taking it very seriously as the mechanic that worked on my car said himself that it was immaculate. Hopefully I get a good out come..  :scared:

I had something similar happen after a service on my old Honda CBR600RR motorbike...
It went in for a service and was mint.... Got it home that night and was putting it away and looked down and saw a crack in the fairing around the indicator... Looked closer and the crack went all along the fairing. I felt sick.
I rang the dealer as soon as they opened and he spoke to the mechanic who said the bike was mint before and after the service...
He said it may have happened after I had ridden off. I calmly told him I had gone straight home and had no incidents at all... He said he will try and help out without actually accepting fault. He got back to me after ringing round and getting prices on second hand fairing. I said I wanted brand new as they looked mint.... Then the mechanic confessed something may have happened whilst he was on his break and then the manager just ordered brand new.

They will use their body shops to sort it for you I expect. It won't cost them much in the end and could save word of mouth bad rep from you to potential customers

Yeah that's what I'm hoping for, I'm sure they rather spend a little bit instead of having bad publicity. It will most likely polish out, but that's not the point at the end of the day. It will be interesting how they go about doing the wheel..

Did you check all the way round every wheel prior to dropping it off ? I don't expect you did . Nobody would . The white stuff will polish out easily .

I used to leave £1.80 for the car park next to my drivers seat , it was always there , the VW Dealer valet/mechanic or whatever took it . They didn't seem to think it was an issue and done nothing about it . I didn't stop going to them as i wanted a VW stamp in my service book .

Well I had this particular wheel fitted less than a week ago, and washed the car the day before I dropped it off for it's service, so actually yes, I did check all around the wheel. I check all the wheells thoroughly ever time I wash my car, so every week. Also, the damage to the wheel is obviously not done by a curb, so would have to have been doing from removing the wheel from the car, which they did to fit new draft shafts.

Also, I have already said the white paint will polish out, but that's not the point. The point is, they're hitting my door on other people's cars, and other pepople's car doors on my car. That's unacceptable. I expect my car to be handed back to me the way I handed it to them.

I have no idea. All three marks on my door are white. One of them is obviously from another car, but the ones on the edge of my door must have been my door hitting another car. My only guess is another poor customer has had their car damaged too  :stupid:

Just got back from seeing two of the managers, didn't had a very successful time..

Firstly, they denied the wheel 110% and said it was impossible for them to have done the damage as the tire was never removed. Now saying it is impossible is already wrong, it may be unlikely; but certainly not impossible. Having explained that the wheel was less than 2 weeks old and was cleaned and checked 2 days before the service, they both stood firm and said no way was that us.

We then got onto the door damage. They agreed to fix that with a "touch up pen" and as a "gesture of good will". Now to me, that isn't exactly a good well, it's more the minimum I would expect. However, they wouldn't admit it it being them that caused the door damage. They said it was caused from the seat belts. Now, how could a seat belt that is inside the car, cause damage to the edge of the outside of the door? The door would have to be open for this to happen. When the door opens, the door moves away from the car, and away from the seat belts. I explained this, and said it's white paint, it defiantly isn't caused by my seat belts. The guy then said, it's on the other side too, but when he tried showing me this, surprise surprise there was nothing there  :signLOL:

So a this point, they had agreed to fix the door, but not the wheel. I said to them that neither damage was picked up on the vehicle check when you first saw it, and the technician said himself my car was immaculate, so I have two bits of evidence in my favor. They're response to this was that the technician wouldn't have picked up on the wheel because he wouldn't have checked it so thoroughly, and that the vehicle checks they do are very brief and don't mark damage as small as mine was.

To this I said that cutting corners and saving time when assessing cars for damage is their error, and although the damage is only small, when that's the only damage to the car, it's a pretty big deal. To this they had no response..

The entire time I was having to prove my point, it was hard work staying calm, as they both made me feel like I was in the wrong. I feel that if I wasn't as young as 20, they would have treated me with a bit more respect.

Also, to top it off, when I asked them to update my firmware, they updated my maps instead haha, so I said to them feel free to listen to the phone call when I made the booking and specifically said 'firmware update haha.

I'm currently waiting for further call back from them because I said that I know for sure this damage wasn't their originally and I'm not just going to let it go.

Not happy  :sad1:
