@Carl123 you can definitely hear the difference with yours. I will try and take another audio clip without my fan running.

Hmmm I dunno but I changed my cam adjustment sensor this morning and it's even quieter now maybe you should look into changing that I'll take a vid of how quiet it is now when I get a chance

Recently had my thermostat changed and now that the gti is running at correct temperature the engine rattles when warm only when idling.....didnt do this before the thermostat change so not sure if it is the chain! Seems to be costing me alot of money so far :( can you guys advise me from listening to the video? Very loud in the cabin as shown on the video. Any help would be grateful before I go get an opinion at VW. Thanks

A lot of people with the AXX engine have been changing the cam chain and tensioner i also changed the adjustor. If you have an AXX engine it may be worth looking into. My engine does sound better now.

I have the same clicking noise as well on my CDL engine. It seems like the tensioner or injectors.

Whats everyone else paying for this job doing including the adjuster? VW say I need the chain, tensioner and adjuster changing and have quoted quite high.....
