Just a quickie - Is there a specific metal valve for the 18" Monza/Detroit wheels, and does anyone know the part number, as VW dont!

Don't think there are metal valves as such. The BBS monzas had a metal stem on the rim whereas the Ronals didn't. The stem covered the valve.
Or are you talking about metal valve caps?
