Mirror control knob acting weird??
« on: August 17, 2014, 08:25:32 pm »
As I arrived back home today I came to dip my drivers side mirror a little as it seemed to have moved??

As I did, I glanced to the passenger side and that was moving in sync??? Every which way, I turned it off then back on again but still both mirrors were moving, either both up or down, but if I turned the mirror outwards, the passenger side would turn out too??

If I select the passenger side on the switch, then it will just move the passenger side mirror. As you would expect.

Has anyone else had this with their cars? Is it likely that the switch will need to be replaced or could it be a bigger job. The car is a GTs TDI 140 and the switch has a heater position at the front of the switch position.

That is how it is meant to work.  Set the driver one first (which will move both) and then adjust the passenger one to where you want it.

As above stated it's not a fault it's a feature.

If you've got a highlife cluster you can change it from the convenience menu,if not you can use VCDS to set it as single or both for the mirror operation from the R position on the switch!

I don't like this feature and turned it off via the highline display, but if you have a midline display you can still have someone turn this off for you via Vagcom

Cheers John

I think I'll start making a list of the mods I'd like to be done via the Vagcom software. Can the pass feature with the indicators be set to flash more than 3 times? My Chevy used to flash at least 4 possibly 5? Iirc
