RS3 LPFP Fitting
« on: August 20, 2014, 03:05:02 pm »
Just got my hands on 2012 RS3 LPFP!

What's involved with fitting it to my 2007 edition 30?

I have removed everything from the RS3 including the second sender.

My car is stock at moment but  want to install this as OEM upgrade.. I know I may not see much benefit at present but it's kind of future proofing mod for when I go stg1+

I have read on here that AKS do a fitting kit but just wondering if its a straight swap other than the blank and the leveler mod?

Cheers!

Just make sure you fit the rubber that comes of your old pump !  :happy2:
If it's not broke, Mod it.....

I also found it easier to fit the rubber first, then drop the new pump in... it is fiddly...

There is also a mod you can do with the fuel reading arm, by changing the two over, as the ttrs one i found give a false reading..

Not to sure how this is done, but i'm sure someone will give a better instruction...

 :rolleye:

Also make sure you have plently of material to catch/soak up the fuel that squirts out...maybe have a bag ready to drop the old pump striaght in to, as the old pump you pull out will be filled with petrol, less mess, open your fuel cap to help release the pressure.

Just take your time !  :happy2:

VCDS is required to adjust the new pump !

Alex tells me you have to bend the arm slightly to get a better level reading. He found swapping the sender unit with a standard gti one didn't work even though it was suggested in the vortex forums that it did.
Without traction power is nothing!

Was 100% due to your map which gave the issues.
