Photo request
« on: October 30, 2009, 08:07:58 pm »
Hello all, I was unsure where to put this topic but I think this should be ok. We are working on an International specific fitting solution for our Competition and Race catch can systems. We have a theory on how we can accomplish this but before creating mock ups I need to gather a little bit more information. This will be a two part question and thank you anyone who wants to help.

First step is getting an image. Ive attached a modified photo of MonkGTis engine bay taken from a thread on here. What I need is a photo of the engine bay looking straight down towards the ground specifically of the area boxed in Red. I am trying to gauge the space available in this area.

Thanks again to anyone who can help.

Plenty at the beginning of this thread.

Awesome guys, thank you so much. That charcoal canister is a bit bigger then I thought! Next and final step will be to see if someone can get me a measurement between these two points so I know what space there truly is. With that I can confirm or deny my fitment theory.

Thanks!

Phil,

Just dragged the car out and measured.  It is about 6" although my GF didn't believe it.

Haha, well played. I apologize for not being properly specific, the distance I am looking for is marked in green in this modified image.

Phil,

Not sure what you want...............  The picture just shows a green dot.

Phil, do you want the horizontal measurement from the aircon tap to the side of the charcoal can? And also the vertical height of the charcoal can body (excluding top stuff)?

Or are you wanting the vertical measurement from the top of the aircon tap to the top of the charcoal can's body?

Imperial or metric?

The horizontal measurement from the aircon tap to the lip of the charcoal canister please. Imperial is most simple for us, metric is fine as well.

Phil,

Just taken the measurement, and it is 35mm or 1 3/8".  Hope that helps.
