Power steering heavy
« on: August 22, 2014, 09:02:45 pm »
Hi,

I feel that the steering on my golf is heavy at lower speeds (parking etc)

I've read that it can be adjusted via vagcom.

Does anyone know if this can be done on a 08 tdi? (I don't have a lead so can't check)

Cheers

It's possible, depending on software/hardware in your particular car. I can't adjust it in my 58 plate Jetta, but others I've looked at can be adjusted.
Sarcasm for free. Anything after that can only be considered as a bonus.

Just because you think you know something, doesn't make you an expert if you've just read it on the internet, y'know.

Are you losing any fluid?

Had this problem on my polo. Was losing power steering fluid which meant the steering got heavier and heavier and eventually needed my steering rack replacing

They don't have power steering fluid as they are a electronic power steering
