Thanks again , will get it checked and probably replace the pads with OEM as it seems the safer option.

Car is Japanese import to New Zealand ( quite common practice) and in japan most of their lives cars sit in traffic or have short trips. Probably pads been corroded or haven't been looked after well.

Best bit of kit I got was braided neurspeed  lines. 
Cheap enough upgrade with some good fluid. Nice feedback from the pedal.
