I would say Linear all day long, for usable power.

I'd go linear - at least then all the power doesn't come at once.

My only worry is that linear wont "feel" as fast as an aggressive map??

I'm going to R-tech.

Cheers for the replies guys :)

Aggressive will just have you spinning wheels whereas the MK5 GTI next to you at the traffic lights with the linear map will leave you for dead :driver:

Aggressive makes it feel quicker but actually makes you slower   and will kill your clutch quicker (if you are manual)

Linear FTW  :drinking: usable power all the way. . .

Your right it won't !

The aggressive does feel quicker than the linear throttle - if that's what you want go for it ! The advantage of the linear is you can put your foot down further and it is way more controlled - the disadvantage is that when you have a mate in the car and say watch this !!! It doesn't quite have the pick up it used to have. Saying that though once you are in the power band the linear is still pretty savage and at the same time with the aggressive map all you need to do is reign in your right foot a little - I can't say which I preferred tbh they both have their good points. I would say if you are wanting it to feel faster your probably looking for the aggressive map. I liked both :happy2:

Does it make any difference to peak power or is the power going to just spike and tail off sooner?

I have aggressive map, i prefer it as provided you have traction you get a huge amount of torque straight off. Really pushes you back in your seat!
Tried a linear map, yes you have more control coming out of corners etc, but i much prefer the feeling of quick accerlation.

You guys are getting confused with a linear map (Torque delivery) and a linear throttle map.

If you have the clutch for it, i'd go for the high torque/aggressive power delivery and get a linear throttle map too, it makes the power much more useable and controllable, rather than a 50% pedal press giving you 80% of your power
